Immigration Reform

Attention: open in a new window. PrintE-mail

American taxpayers spend an estimated $100 billion a year or more in public services for illegal immigrants. If legislation that provides amnesty becomes law, that cost rises to an estimated $2 trillion or higher.

Dean has a three-step plan to help solve our illegal immigration problem:

  • Start by enforcing existing immigration laws.
  • Fine businesses that knowingly hire illegal immigrants.
  • Construct a border wall and provide the border patrol with the resources necessary to end the flow of illegal immigrants into the United States.

Dean opposes amnesty for those that enter America illegally and believes it should not be option for those who enter our country illegally. Immigrants that wish to become citizens must follow our laws. Dean supports increased efforts to defend America's borders and protect our country from those who want to do us harm.
