Dean Heller On The Issues

Energy Independence

In order to keep gas prices down, Heller supports removing obstacles that keep America from developing its own natural resources. Our nation's dependency on foreign oil leaves America vulnerable to gas spikes resulting from regional turmoil. Dean supports providing greater access to domestic energy resources, stream-lining the permitting process to make energy development easier, and increasing refinery capacity.

If our country takes these steps we will increase our own domestic energy production and lessen our dependency on foreign sources of oil. Keeping energy prices low is essential to economic recovery and job growth.

Dean also believes that our nation needs a forward-thinking all of the above energy strategy that meets our short- and long-term energy needs through conservation, encouraging renewable energy and developing our own natural resources.

Nevada has an incredible opportunity to lead the country in renewable energy development. For this reason, Dean has continued to promote the development of solar, geothermal and wind energy on federal lands in Nevada.
