Card Check

Attention: open in a new window. PrintE-mail

Dean believes that the ability to vote by a secret ballot is a fundamental right of all Americans.

Card check forces employees to vote to unionize in full view of union organizers, empowering Big Labor to intimidate and coerce individuals into joining their unions.

Dean believes card check will threaten American jobs and harm small and large businesses alike that are already struggling to make ends meet. In fact, a recent economic study found that if the card check becomes law, 600,000 jobs could be lost by the end of 2010. Our country and Nevada cannot afford this.

Dean is adamantly opposed to card check and authored the Secret Ballot Protection Act to ensure secret ballot elections in the workplace.
