Dean Votes Against Democrats' National Energy Tax

Congressman Heller voted against the Democrats' national energy tax plan today -- a plan which is projected to cost thousands of Nevadans their jobs.

Dean commented on the tax plan:

Cap and Trade is nothing more than an energy tax that will affect every man, woman, and child in our country. Every time you flip a light switch, cook your family dinner, or take your kids to school you will be taxed. Air travel, food prices, electricity costs and transportation costs will skyrocket. This legislation will kill jobs and further damage an already struggling economy. The mining, housing, farming, ranching, and tourism industries will be devastated at a time when Nevadans are hurting most.

Watch Dean's speech explaining why Nevadans and all Americans can't afford the Democrats' national energy tax.

This was such a lost opportunity for Mr. Heller. Climate change is real, and its prevention could enrich Nevadans while preventing climate catastrophes and freeing us from mid-east tyrants. Unless we control greenhouse ga***s, droughts and erratic weather will cause famines and crises that will nurture nothing but terror organizations. We could making conservation more profitable than ever; Mr Heller' labeling this a tax is just right-wing nonsense. It's time America got into leadership on this issue. Why can't conservative=conservation anymore?
