Dean Discusses Health Care At Reno Town Hall
Last night, Congressman Heller discussed health care issues with 130 Nevadans last night at a town hall hosted by the Republican Jewish Coalition in Reno.
Dean believes that key health care reforms need to be made, but that he doesn't support the government-run plan proposed by the Obama administration and congressional Democrats.
Here's the Reno Gazette-Journal's take on the health care forum:
U.S. Rep. Dean Heller, R-Carson City, addressed health care reform before a largely supportive audience on Tuesday at a forum in Reno.
A crowd of about 130 attended the event sponsored by the Republican Jewish Coalition at the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa.
Before the meeting, Heller said he expected some in attendance to voice their displeasure and some did Tuesday, but the Reno event did not become as heated as some recent health care debates in other parts of the country that have been shown in TV news reports.
'It's the American way for people to ask these questions and express their frustrations and they should have a forum like this in which to speak,' he said.
Heller, who has said he is against the plan proposed by the Obama administration and congressional Democrats, made his preference clear.
'I do want to see health care reform, and I want to see a bill that offers more competition and higher quality (of health care) for less cost,' he said.
